Vet Referrals

Our veterinary team regularly leans on the expertise of our experienced veterinary colleagues at other practices. If your dog or cat requires specialized care beyond our capacity, we’re happy to refer them to our network of experts. You can expect a high level of professionalism and knowledge while your pet is in their care.

Where do you refer pets?

We are located close to several high-quality referral facilities in Mississauga, Toronto and Guelph. These centers have specialists in a wide variety of fields, including dermatology, surgery, cardiology, rehabilitation, neurology, ophthalmology, and dentistry.

The new Animal Cancer Centre in Guelph is well-known and one of the best in the world!  Referrals to specialists are recommended by our veterinarians when we have cases beyond the scope of general practice. Alternatively, we send patients to Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Thorold, or to Lakeshore Animal Health Partners in Mississauga, when we have critically ill or injured cases that need more intensive care or an overnight stay.

We frequently spend time consulting on the phone or online with Internal Medicine Specialists several times weekly on more difficult cases. If you have questions about our referral process, please contact us at 905-945-8631.

Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Referrals

Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation is an essential part of the healing process for many conditions in dogs and cats including osteoarthritis, muscle and ligament injury, as well as post-surgical repair. For additional rehab, including access to Laser Therapy and an underwater treadmill we refer our patients to Southern Ontario Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Burlington.
